Frigorífico Gorina is an Argentine family-owned business with over 50 years of experience in the beef industry. However, the family’s roots in the trade go back even further. The grandfather of the current owners worked as a butcher and passed his skills on to the next generation, who expanded the family business by opening butcher shops and becoming involved in cattle slaughtering and local beef distribution.
Under the third generation, the business continued to grow. In 1999, the family acquired its current production facility in La Plata, marking an important step in Gorina’s development into one of Argentina’s leading beef exporters.
Located approximately 70 kilometres from Buenos Aires, the modern facility is situated in the heart of the Pampa Húmeda. This fertile region is internationally renowned for its excellent cattle-farming conditions. Its temperate climate and vast natural grasslands provide an ideal environment for raising cattle and producing high-quality Argentine beef.
Gorina’s location plays an important role in the quality of its beef. Most of the cattle are sourced from the Pampa Húmeda, one of Argentina’s most important cattle-producing regions.
At Gorina’s modern processing facility, the cattle are processed with care and precision. The plant has a processing capacity of approximately 27,000 cattle per month and features one of South America’s more advanced deboning facilities.
Quality assurance is a priority throughout every stage of production. The facility has its own modern laboratory and operates in accordance with internationally recognised quality and food safety standards, including HACCP and BRC.
Gorina brings together the heritage of an Argentine family business, generations of beef industry expertise and modern processing technology. Today, the fourth generation is also actively involved in the company.
