Guaranteed quality and safety
Our customers want assurance about the quality and safety of the food they buy. We think it’s only logical that our products are of premium quality. That is why we have obtained all the main certifications that show that we take that promise seriously. Below is an overview of our certifications.
IFS Broker is a certification system that ensures the safety of products supplied by companies which don’t come into contact with products themselves but supply them directly to their customers.
IFS Food is a standardised food safety assessment program for retailers as well as industry branded food products.
IFS Logistics applies to both food and non-food products and covers all logistics activities, such as loading, unloading and transport. The standard can be applied to all types of transport; trucks, trains, ships, aircraft and all other types of transport (whether temperature-controlled or not).
Inspections of the Better Life label are carried out by independent, accredited Certification Bodies (CBs). The CBs are all ISO 17065 accredited by the Accreditation Council. Almost all business types undergo an annual audit; the participant may choose which CB to use.
After a successful evaluation by the CB, Luiten Food received a one-year certification.
This certification allows us to demonstrate that we meet the requirements to be allowed to import, pack and trade organic products.
Our MSC certification allows us to demonstrate that our fish & seafood product comes from sustainable fishing. An independent body verifies that the fish product is actually of sustainable origin. Thanks to our MSC certification, we are allowed to carry the MSC label.
Our ASC certification is intended to make aquaculture ecologically sustainable and socially responsible, using efficient market mechanisms that create value throughout the chain. The ASC label plays an important role in creating awareness among consumers. Thanks to our ASC certification, we are allowed to carry the ASC label.
With our CSR performance ladder certification, we can guarantee that our management system is set up for continuous improvement on CSR aspects.
Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certification is issued by Customs administrations to companies operating internationally. An AEO certification offers companies advantages in international trade; for example, they are subject to less stringent controls in cross-border trade, reducing delays at borders. To obtain Authorised Economic Operator status, a company must meet a number of security criteria. These criteria are based on the Community Customs Code and its implementing regulations.
