FRENCH CONCEPT CHICKEN, THE CHICKEN WITH A DIFFERENT STORY

Luiten Food – Thomas Foods Europe imports Poussin & Coquelet from Brittany, France. The entire production process, from birth to processing, takes place in France. “Poussin” is what butchers call a young chicken. At the time of slaughter, the Poussin will be between 28 and 35 days old and will usually weigh 400 to 500 g. Its weight should not exceed 750 g. The chickens’ feed consists of 100% natural materials.

These qualities apply to the Coquelet too, except that they are corn-fed and are therefore yellow in colour.

Our offer includes:

  • Poussins & Coquelets
  • Corn-fed chicken
  • Bresse poultry

Available in fresh & frozen

CORN-FED CHICKEN

Corn-fed chickens are born, raised, slaughtered and processed in France using a dedicated, strict and monitored breeding method. An independent organisation closely monitors the entire process.

Proactive measures are taken to promote the welfare of the animals. Only farms known for their quality meat are selected. The corn-fed chickens are fed a healthy and balanced diet, with ingredients of vegetarian and mineral origin and enriched with vitamins.

The corn-fed chickens are slaughtered after a minimum of 42 days and grow to weigh between 900 and 1300 g.

The chickens are mostly fed maize, which makes the meat yellow and allows the chicken to build up a bigger fat reserve.

Corn-fed chicken is also available in Nature & Respect chicken (two-star Better Life) and Label Rouge chicken.

Our offer includes:
· Corn-fed chicken
· Corn fed chicken breast
· Corn fed chicken fillet supreme
· Corn-fed chicken leg
· Corn-fed chicken thigh meat

Bresse Chicken

The quality of Bresse chicken is the result of a few farmers in the French Bresse region. Knowledge is passed on from father to son, allowing the ‘true connoisseur’ to continue enjoying this wonderful chicken. The Bresse chicken is the only chicken that has an AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée, or Protected Designation of Origin) label. The AOC is a French quality control system for agricultural products. The Bresse chicken meets strict production conditions, which earns it an AOC. All this means that the Bresse chicken is raised with love, made with the best resources and is definitely worth giving a try!
