On May 12th 2023, Thomas Foods International (TFI) proudly announced that construction of the new state-of-the-art beef processing facility at Murray Bridge, Australia was complete. The total period of construction of the new plant took a little over two years after a devastating fire destroyed the old processing facility in early 2018.

In the wake of the catastrophe TFI announced a vision to rebuild Murray Bridge with an ambition of what would be the epitome of advanced food production, ensuring the highest standards of beef and lamb processing. A future focussed investment of this size and nature that will undoubtedly cement TFI as a world leader in food production. With final purpose a multi-stage master plan with future options to expand production to 1,200 cattle & 15,000 small stock per day.

As part of the plant’s commissioning, pilot production has now commenced, with TFI currently carrying out detailed tests of all equipment and systems, including initial processing.

As production increases to 600 cattle per day, up to 350 staff are expected to be employed under Stage One of the new development. TFI is actively recruiting production staff with immediate start-up opportunities, with a strong emphasis on both experienced and entry-level positions.

TFI is committed to further development under the Stage One phase and hopes to reach full production capacity as soon as possible.
